Sophia’s Greek Pantry began in Belmont, Massachusetts, in 2001 with a clear goal: to share Greek culture and food with the local community.
When customers in Lowell asked for a Greek store of their own, Valerie Georgoulopoulos opened a second location to meet that need.
“Our customers said, ‘Hey, there’s a Greek store up there... and we want to know if you can come and open up a store there,’ because the Greek community in Lowell really needs something, and we’d be a perfect fit.”
Sophia’s Greek Pantry North offers a wide selection of imported Greek products, including olives, feta cheese, and their signature sheep and goat’s milk yogurt.
