After years of occupying traditional office space, Charlotte-based POS Nation decided it was the right time to make a move. Seeking a more open and modern workspace, the team recently moved into a newly-renovated warehouse in Charlotte’s historic South End.
From the polished concrete floors and exposed ceilings to the open layout and funky color scheme, the 5,454 square foot warehouse-turned-workspace exemplifies the increasingly popular modern industrial office.
“We were looking for a more open environment to encourage teamwork and collaboration,” noted Director Cort Ouzts. “You can’t reproduce the character, the energy, and the cool factor of working in the South End.”
POS Nation offers retail and restaurant point of sales systems to a nationwide customer base as well as local Charlotte businesses such as Passion8, Tinder Box, and Sushi 101. In an industry challenged by ever-changing technology and a flood of new competitors, POS Nation is on track to record 15-percent growth this year.
“We have a great group of 15 employees,” Ouzts explained, “but recruiting and finding the right people is a constant challenge. With the real estate and development growth the area has seen, we knew this would be the perfect location to attract young, tech-savvy talent for years to come. It doesn’t hurt to have a handful of breweries within walking distance either.”
Located at 3021-B Griffith Street, POS Nation’s new office is also equipped with a demo room to showcase its products to local prospects and customers. “We’re working on a workout space as well,” added Ouzts.
